Hello William -

Thanks for your comment. My aim in the piece was not to question the idea of the play of polarities that constitute our earthly experience, but rather the interpretation of thinkers like Peterson who view it as an aggressive battle of “male” vs. “female”, “light” vs. “dark”, etc., in which the “strongest” conquers the “weaker”. While this cycle demonstrates itself in the natural world I believe that humanity has reached a level of evolution where we must learn to reconcile the opposites through cooperation rather than competition. Where the former allows for integration of the opposites for growth (what Jung termed individuation), the latter sets up an “us vs. them” mentality in which “others” deemed inferior (whether women, minorities, etc.) are to be dominated rather than learned from. As Jesus said, a house divided against itself cannot stand. Through studying the workings of the “All in All” we can begin to glean, however slightly, the Transcendent Unity behind temporal diversity. Or, as Saint Paul phrased it, “One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4:6)
